The horses

Management
The horses of today are already properly bred to the current riding horse. Yet their body is still the “wild” horse who wants to walk for miles and has to eat non-stop until every four hours (if they don’t, they get a quicker chance of colic, stomach ulcers, etc.).
Take a look at this schedule:

Wild horseStable horse
60% food – Walking, daily> 30 Km
20% standing
10% laying
10% other activities such as play, social interaction, sex
15% food – Still
70% standing
10% laying
3% other activities such as playing, social interaction, sex

That’s why I have my horses outside as much as possible in a group with 24/7 roughage. In the winter they stand in the stable and during the day in the Paddock Paradise.
